WHO: Malaria hampering Nigeria’s economy

NIGERIA - The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said the high prevalence of malaria in the country was hampering the Nigerian economy in various dimensions, resulting to the loss of about N132 billion annually to malaria related projects.

Mixed reactions as immunisation, polio funds slashed

NIGERIA - Following the decline in the health budgetary allocation for 2016, especially on the funding for immunisation and polio for the year, the coalition of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Community Health and Research Initiative (CHR) and the Partnership for Advocacy in Child and Family Health (PACFAH) has frowned at the slashed funding of routine immunisation and polio eradication from N8 billion to N4 billion.
